Love Is Like an Hourglass

Love is like an hourglass.

When the mind is empty,

the heart becomes full.

There are moments in life when logic fades,

when thoughts fall silent,

and all that remains is feeling.

That’s when love begins to speak.

As grains of sand slip from the top to the bottom,

so do emotions flow from thought to soul—

quietly, gently, filling the spaces

that reason cannot reach.

Love doesn’t thrive in calculation or control.

It lives in surrender,

in stillness,

in the quiet acceptance of what cannot be explained.

And just like sand settling into the lower half of the hourglass,

love fills the heart when the mind lets go.

Not because we understand it,

but because we allow ourselves to feel it.

So perhaps to truly love,

we must stop trying to grasp it with thought

and simply hold it with the heart.
